DESCRIPTION

We, as a human, are given a variety of roles in life. You might be a student at a time but a tutor the other time. You might be a son or daughter at the present but a parent in the future. These are roles given to us inherently by the environment. In the interim, we develop a sense of self. Our own self-image it is. Many a time, however, we may not truly know who we are but we know for certain who we think we are. We are spending our lifetime figuring out others’ personal identity so as to probe for our own. That is to say, we are somehow being trapped in the maze of finding who we really are. In the exhibition “I’m Hui Yan Ho”, 11 students from AVA expresses how they perceive the sense of self via particular art forms.

It is hoped that the gathered artworks can not only shed light on the students’ endeavor, but also smooth the way for a conversation by asking who we really are.
