“Yet”, symbolizes a short pause a phase in the journey of art study that would bring forth all sorts of possibilities and uncertainties. It is also a reflection of the art learning experience of students in the Hong Kong Baptist University Master of Arts in Visual Arts program this year. They came with their knowledge and experience; they challenged with new ideas; they learned from and grew with each other; they are now transformed with a new understanding of art. This exhibition is showcasing artworks with a high diversity of medium including painting, ceramics, new media and installation from 15 students. Each piece of artwork takes a different approach to investigating contemporary art in Hong Kong.
The 15 participating student artists come from diverse backgrounds. Students from two different yet closely related concentrations, namely Studio and Media Arts & Craft and Design, are exploring and giving meanings to art through experimentation, art making, research, and theorization. They express their artistic point of views, bringing oneself to others and the world.
