Ms. Tim Tim Lam (HKBU Alumni, Founder of AFFECTION)
Tim Tim Lam is a creative entrepreneur bridging art and commerce. She is the founder, artistic director, and the independent jewellery designer of AFFECTION (an award-winning project of the Youth Entrepreneurship Voyage in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area). She is also an artist-in-residence at ADC Landmark South, an art space under the Hong Kong Arts Development Council (ADC). She pioneered the unique “Preservation Alchemy” philosophy, transforming sentimental memories into enduring sculptural jewellery, with her design works consistently winning top awards in major Hong Kong jewellery design competitions. Concurrently, she is the founder of the F&B brand M station 1, with over a decade of hands-on operational experience, specializing in sharing insights on transforming profound creativity into sustainable brands.
Mr. Parry LING (HKBU Alumni, Founder of Post Tree Lifestyle)
Parry LING is a sculptor; holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Chinese University of Hong Kong and a Master of Visual Arts from Hong Kong Baptist University. Formerly a studio technician and instructor at the Academy of Visual Arts, Hong Kong Baptist University, Guest lecturer at the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts, The Education University of Hong Kong ; currently the founder and director of Post Tree Lifestyle Limited devoted to recycling the felled trees in Hong Kong. Due to the knowledge of local felled trees recycling, currently is appointed to be a member of the Industry Training advisory Committee (Arboriculture and Horticulture), Hong Kong Qualification framework.
Post Tree Lifestyle was set up in 2018 at 1 Kai Fong Garden, Ping Che, Fanling, as the first integrated tree recycling and processing center in Hong Kong. Our vision is to utilize felled local trees in our life and environment with positive environmental impacts. In 2018, the Institute of Bioresource and Agriculture, HKBU, studied and examined our tree recycling process with Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), conducted according to the ISO14040 series standards. It indicated that every process and recycling product of ours is eco-friendly, just as our belief that “trees should be more than wood in order to minimize environmental impact.”
Mr. Shawn Pak Hin Tang and Ms. Karie Tsui Ka Yee (HKBU Alumni, Founder of interval:in)
Studio interval:in was founded in 2023 by Shawn Pak Hin Tang and Karie Tsui Ka Yee as an artist-run studio catering to emerging Hong Kong artists. Equipped with tools for woodworking, metal fabrication, and casting production, the studio operates as a collective space dedicated to the technical production of sculptural and installation works across diverse forms and media. Managed by Tang and Tsui, it offers customized artistic solutions and experimental strategies for exhibitions, events, material applications, installations, and design projects.
Studio interval:in aspires to serve as a protective umbrella for emerging artists, nurturing their technical and artistic aspirations. Commercially, the studio concentrates on art production and fabrication, encouraging members to collaborate as a team on projects aligned with their talents. This dynamic structure provides financial sustainability while offering members opportunities to build confidence and refine their craft within a professional practice.
Prof. Peter Nelson is an Associate Professor working in fine art, media studies, computer games, and creative technology, with a career as a practising artist spanning over 20 years. His first book, Computer Games as Landscape Art (Palgrave Macmillan, 2023), considers how first-person shooter computer games can be understood through the art historical lens of landscape, and his recent papers examine questions such as realism in the age of computer-simulated images and the role of AI in digital creative processes.
