“TRI-PHO” resembles a triple definition of photography suggested by a group of post 90s’ artists. It is also a showcase of dialogues about this medium from simply a scientific discovery to a form of art appreciation through the study of light and shadow. When we press the shutter, there’s an underlying desire of “capturing to own the scene” from cameras. The presence of pictures drives us to study the multiple ways of existence about this medium. And hence, we raise the question “what does photography mean to us? To our audience when it provides the functions of collecting memories and activating mental behaviors.
This exhibition consists of six art pieces, we are explaining the topic in three sections, and they include the discussion of power of narration in photography, the dissection of photography and its materialistic characteristics. This is the first ternate exhibition of Glo Chan Cheuk Yan, Echo Hui Gi Wai and Fion Hung Ching Yan. We hope to share our art with our visitors, and also to discuss the possibilities of photography with all of you.
