Social design in Rural China - "Forge a Path through Obstacles”: My Ten Years in Rural Development
Over the past decade or so, from 2011 to the present, in their rural work from Bishan to Dananpo, Zuo Jing and his team have gradually established the fundamental principles of rural work through a series of research, publications, exhibitions, and the establishment of physical spaces. In the lecture, Zuo will share with us his experiences in social design and in emphasizing cultural creativity and sustainability.

Over the past decade or so, from 2011 to the present, in their rural work from Bishan to Dananpo, Zuo Jing and his team have gradually established the fundamental principles of rural work through a series of research, publications, exhibitions, and the establishment of physical spaces. In the lecture, Zuo will share with us his experiences in social design and in emphasizing cultural creativity and sustainability.
Curator, urban and rural worker. Associate professor at Anhui University and Vice Chairman of the Rural Cultural Creative Sub-Association of the China Cultural Industry Association. He has previously founded and served as the chief editor for various journals and books, including "Bishan" and "Baigong." Since 2011, Zuo Jing has shifted his focus to rural and urban (township) development with bases in rural areas of Anhui, Guizhou, Yunnan, Zhejiang, and Henan. He has curated numerous exhibitions such as at the Guangdong Times Museum, Beijing Iberia Contemporary Art Center, Shanghai Pearl Art Museum, Madrid Tomas y Valiente Art Center, Valencia Modern Art Museum in Spain, Contemporary Art Museum of Chile, Contemporary Art Museum of São Paulo, Chengdu Biennale, and the 15th & 16th Venice Architecture Biennale.
