Ron Yakir will present two large scale photographic installations at The Academy of Visual Art gallery at the Kai Tak campus. The works invert the notion of Cinema, where an immobile beholder experiences moving images. Here the images are stationary, the beholder moving. These installations are part of an ongoing exploration of Phantom Physicality: a form of embodied perception enriched by direct and indirect physical experience.

Yakir is a doctoral candidate at AVA. His work investigates the differences and similarities between worldly (analogue) experiences and digital ones. By introducing the concept of Phantom Physicality, Yakir creates a framework that can facilitate a richer experience of both an analogue and digital nature.
The exhibition will be on view from the 4th of November until the 27th, every day from 10:00 until 18:00.
