Normalised: Associate Degree Visual Arts Exhibition
In many people’s eyes, art is the product of “pointless moaning and groaning”.
INTRODUCTION
In many people’s eyes, art is the product of “pointless moaning and groaning”. The public often doubts the necessity of artworks or criticizes creators for being over-sentimental and exaggerated. Yet to artists, the process of creation originates from their inner feelings that must be expressed. Through endless self-scrutiny and hollowing the soul, they unveil questions posed on oneself or even the society, which is much more than mere moaning and groaning. This exhibition displays photographs and sculptures from 28 Visual Arts Associate Degree students, who record their own “moaning and groaning” with art to figure out the answers to the questions that they have been concerning in the pursuit of liberation.
