AVA Artists Ex-Residence Talk Series - What time is it now? The way to break water into pieces by Jiyoung Yoo About the speaker LANGUAGE Notes to HKBU students Registration
Time is changeable. Without our noticing, it always changes its name from one to two o’clock, from Monday to Tuesday and from March to April. As with a glass determines the shape of water, the number that occupies a cell of a calendar defines the day. In this talk, Jiyoung Yoo will introduce her works which explore the dilemma of formats that represent the state of flux and how her experience at AVA in Hong Kong has influenced her practice.
Jiyoung Yoo (b. 1991, Seoul) is an artist who works with painting as an object loaded with conventions. She holds an MA in Painting at the Slade School of Fine Art and was Artist-in-Residence at AVA, HKBU in 2018. She lives and works in London and Seoul.
