White walls are an inclination of contemporary art galleries to serve the function of removing extra aesthetic or historical context from the environment to allow pure connection between audiences and artworks.
This attempt to remove context from the experiencing of artworks has become a context in itself.
The purpose of ‘Invisible’ attempts to question the nature of the standard white cube situation or environment. By using the gallery elements as a frame of reference, ‘invisible’ seeks to create a space for the audience to connect to the works actively.
This exhibition was organised through the class VART3367 Exhibition and Art Markets. The organisers would like to thank the generous support and engagement of all artists that were involved in the various stages.
