🔶 Bachelor of Arts(Hons) in Visual Arts - Programme Consultation

Students are welcome to meet our faculty members in person to learn about different study areas of visual arts.
🔶 Campus Tour of AVA Studios
(11:00 am - 5:00 pm; CVA Studios; English or Cantonese)
Students can visit the CVA Gallery and Studios, such as Chinese Arts Studio, Glass Studio, Robotic Systems Creative Lab, Jewellery Studio, Graphic Arts Studio, Computer Lab, Lens-Media Arts Studio and wearable lab.
🔶 AVA Alumni Exhibition - Pseudo Organics

This is a joint exhibition of experimental ceramics and sculptures by two AVA alumni Daphne Ng and Cherry Tsoi, who would like to use ceramics as the medium to depict the imaginary and fragile world.

AVA students can choose a variety of areas to focus their studies, such as experience design, drawing and paintings, Chinese Ink Art, graphic art and design, and print making, just to name a few.
🔶 Glass Blowing Hotshop Demonstration
(11:00 am - 5:00 pm; CVA 308 - 310; English or Cantonese)
The Glass Studio in AVA is the only one in Hong Kong Tertiary Institutions, you will be able to see how students are blowing glass in their hot shop.
🔶 Make your Own Jewellery Workshop (Quota: 10/ session)
(11:30 am, 1:30 pm, 3:30 pm; CVA 311; English or Cantonese)
You will be able to learn about how to make a piece of jewellery yourself with simple tools and materials. And also you will get to know techniques and equipment of a professional.
🔶 Wood Work Demonstration (Quota: 10/ session )
(11:30 am, 1:30 pm, 3:30 pm; CVA 301; Ms. Anna Qin; English or Cantonese)
There will be a demonstration on woodwork, participants can get their hands on some simple wood/acrylic crafts and take away as souvenirs.
🔶 Get to know the Lens Media Arts in AVA

There will be a screening of AVA students' video artwork. You will be able to learn about the dark room and lens media equipment from our technicians.
🔶 Sketch Book Binding Demonstration and Workshop (Quota: 10/ session )
(12:30 am, 2:30 pm, 4:30 pm; CVA 408; Ms. Pat Wong; English or Cantonese)
Illustration artist @flying pig will share with you her tips about sketching and demonstrate how to bind a sketchbook. You will be able to try it for yourself.
🔶 AVA Student Sharing and Q&A Session-Our lives in Studios

Deciding to study an art degree is always a challenging decision. AVA students will share with you their personal experience in appling the BA (Hons) in Visual Art of AVA. This sharing will give you a glimpse of studio lives of AVA students. Tips on admission interview and preparing a portfolio that impress our panel members will be included. You will learn about the career path of our graduates as well.

Our Programme Director Mr. Tom O'Dea and Associate Programme Director Dr. Evelyn Kwok will introduce the programme, including its philosophy, the structure of courses at different levels as well as career prospect of graduates. A Q&A session will ensue after the programme briefing.
🔷 Visit to Visualisation Research Centre

BU's pioneering new Visualization Research Centre (VRC) has recently opened. It is the home for cutting edge immersive art, virtual reality, digital heritage and interactive cinema. It features the world's first 3D 360-degree LED screen as well as an enveloping hemi-spherical screen. These technologies will allow BU researchers and its students to explore totally new audio-visual experiences that herald the future of art+tech. Seeing is more than believing at BU!

🔷 Art and AI Workshop

In the workshop, students can make their AI Artwork with text prompts, and understand the algorithm concepts behind the scene.
