INTRODUCTION About the Speaker
The rapidity of information explosion in this day and age has forced upon us an era picture reading that often presents a sense of familiar isolation. Image reading does not dwell on existing knowledge, but instead focus upon the body instincts for the poetic and imaginative elements of pictures. The approach is unfettered by the restrictions of modern culture, allowing us to investigate innate human ability in conducting subsequent pictorial analysis。In this talk, ceramic artist Chu Fang-Yi will introduce his ceramic artworks and their relations to this topic.
Chu Fang-Yi is a contemporary ceramic artist, a member of UNESCO International Academy of Ceramics (IAC), and the lecturer of Department of Material Arts & Design, TNNUA, Taiwan. In the same year, he was selected as the Mino International Ceramics Triennial in Japan. In 2011, he also won the Special Award of the World Ceramics Biennale of Korea.
