26 sketchbooks are presented, using mediums from pencil, charcoal, watercolours, acrylics and ink. Through the lens of abstraction, they visualise their versions of a familiar place, providing other angles to look at the library.
Students in a drawing class were asked the question: ‘What is abstraction?’
Spending some time in the Au Shue Hung Memorial Library, they look for things that attract them: be the books, space, lighting, texture or the sound; then extract, isolate and maximise. Afterwards, they express their takes through a series of sketches.
