YAU is engaged in researching the spatial aesthetics of ink art and how the essence of ink adapts to contemporary contexts. In recent years, YAU has sought to explore the potential relationships among interactive methods, content, and external forms in ink works.
Recent projects:
Commissioned art projects funded by the Hong Kong Museum of Art (On-going)
Contemporary can be seen as a continuation of traditions; therefore, YAU attaches great importance to ink art developed on the basis of traditions. Students must develop a heightened sensitivity to the various situational changes through observation. The richness of history, theories, techniques and so on are essential for fostering a comprehensive understanding of artistic practice.
