Installation Studio

The AVA installation Studio has two locations: Kai Tak Campus (situated in heritage architecture in an open natural environment surrounded by the local community) and the third floor of the Communication and Visual Arts Building (a formal cube space). Both studios are spatial learning platforms as well as exhibition sites, with high ceilings, spotlights and wide walls, yet the different spatial characteristics allow students to explore how space, concept and theory are contextualised in site-specific installation art forms.

Equipment includes projectors, speakers, stands and various tools for students to practice spatial interpretation: space and place observations, site specificity, object manipulation and transformation, assembling skills and display methods.
