Rose Li is an artist who practices Cantonese Opera and performs occasionally.
Intrigued by the mystery of stage, which is beyond time and space, her works concern the intertwining relations between performer, audience, stage and imagination.
Through writing, self-dialogues and engagement with different media, she flows with the vicissitudes of being.
Rose’s research starts with the discomfort brought by demarcation of schools and disciplines. With an interest in performance art, philosophy and art history, her research reflects upon temporality and spatiality in performance art. Through employing multiple approaches in both practice and writing, inspired by traditions, transhistoricity, aesthetics and phenomenology, she hopes to afford insights into the nature of performance art.
