Hong Kong Baptist University

Before studying in AVA, Zena had been working in the media and communication industry for various positions including communication and strategic planning, writing, editing, and translating. She is looking for any possibility to explore the world, by the means of bodily experience and pathos.

Zena’s research concerns on how the imperialism (under British colonial rule) and the development of capitalism have influenced the process of civilisation in the history of Hong Kong. The topics in my thesis include, but not limited to, the trajectories of the capitalism, the genesis of the cultural spaces and museums in Hong Kong, the reproductivity and conditionality of the cultural spaces in Hong Kong, and the concepts on the writing of the (cultural) history of Hong Kong.
