After his architectural studies in Italy and a few years working in the field, Andrea moved to the United Kingdom, where he studied Graphic and Media Design at the University of the Arts in London. Approaching the end of the BA studies, Andrea grew more and more interested in 3D. Such an interest brought him to study product design at the Royal College of Art where, under the direction of Ron Arad, he received his Master degree in 2004.
During those years Andrea got two awards from the Royal Society of Arts, he was a finalist in the MUJI design competition, and he was short-listed in the Helen Hemlin Research Project and the Snowdon Disability Award. His work has been published in the D&AD annual, and on papers like Design Week, Spotlight and the Sunday edition of the Observer. His work has been shown in London, Tokyo and Hong Kong, and his products are sold worldwide.
Andrea has been working as a creative designer for the European Design Development Centre at Lever-Faberge’ in Liverpool and as an experimental designer at SCA Packaging at their Head Quarters in Hinckley. Since he moved to Hong Kong in 2007, Andrea has been designing toys and teaching students at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. During this time Andrea has won the PT award and has managed to bring some of his students’ projects to awards and mass production.
