People

Experienced, international and professional

The AVA faculty comes from a range of cultures and visual arts disciplines – contemporary art, architecture, design, public art, sculpture, painting, Chinese arts, moving image, sound art, photography, ceramics, glass, jewellery, illustration, and more.

Open-minded, creative and connected

Highly educated in the history, theory, and applications of their disciplines – all faculty members approach education as a holistic, interdisciplinary, and interactive experience.  Practicing artists for most of them, they have an extensive professional network and the instinctive drive to create.

Enriched

Besides our 25 full-time staff, AVA has more than 10 part-time staff through a choice of over 75 different courses. Art professionals, visiting scholars, and artists-in-residence deliver courses, lectures and workshops, enriching the experience of everyone at AVA, students and faculty alike.
