Ceramics Studio

The Ceramics Studio, located within the grounds of several cottages of the Kai Tak Campus, is one of the most beautiful and best equipped ceramics studios in Hong Kong at the university level.

Recently extended and renovated in 2014, the Studio offers training in basic and advanced ceramics making techniques, glazing and surface treatment techniques, and various firing experiences indoors as well as in an outdoor gear yard. Through demonstrations and practical training, students are able to work reliably and freely in the Studio, realising their concepts in the material of clay.

In 2015, a wood-fired kiln was set up by residence artist Tetsuya Ishiyama and it is the first wood-fired kiln among the tertiary institutions.
