The DUO exhibition aims to explore how artists work together and influence each other.
In conventional art exhibitions, artists work individually around the same topic or issue, then they would put their final artwork individually in the same space. However, the connection between the artworks ends there. In this exhibition, artists were grouped into pairs. They connect their artworks in the process of pondering concepts and create works together based on topics that they both want to explore. Through personal exchanges and active brainstorming, the artists will be given plenty of opportunities to get to know each other’s art practice and rewarded opinions from both intuitive and professional perspectives. We regard it as a valuable experience for both artists to see themselves working from the other person’s perspective, not only looking for each other’s blind spots but also extend the same idea that could go another direction of an artist with a different background. This project is intended to be experimental with a lot of room for the artists’ to explore between themselves.
The exhibition will be a platform of Fourteen third-year students from the Academy of Visual Arts to showcase the results of this experimental project, in which art facilitates not only oneself or a community but also a two-way personal exchange.
